Fantastic Position
Tucked 20 metres down a quiet side street, the chalet is just 300
metres from the town square. The bakers is 50 metres away, and there
must be two dozen restaurants and bars within a ten minute walk. If
you are self-catering, and want to eat in the chalet, the
well-stocked supermarket is only 200 metres from the chalet. At the
same time, it is only a five minute walk from the chalet in ski
boots to the foot of the Savoy beginners slope.
Stunning Open Fireplace
A flight of outside steps take you to the front door, on the first
floor of the chalet. On this floor are the open plan kitchen /
dining area and living area, as well as the lower floor of the
duplex master bedroom suite. The living area features two large and
very comfortable sofas, either side of a stunning stone open
fireplace. This also has a glass screen which slides down out of the
mantelpiece to make it safe if you want to go out, or when you go to
bed. The living area is open to the eaves five metres above, with
exposed timber beams everywhere, and timber clad walls. Along the
south side of the living area is a south facing balcony accessed by
French windows, with magnificent views to the Aiguille du Midi and
Mont Blanc.
Luxury Modern Kitchen
The kitchen features granite worktops, and craftsman built oak
kitchen units. There are both gas and electric hobs, an oven and a
microwave. There is an American fridge / freezer with ice maker, and
a Bosch dishwasher which is so quiet you can run it any time you
like. There is a Gaggia coffee machine that will make you Espresso and Cappuccino,
and anything in between. In short, it is a luxury modern kitchen
with every convenience. Between the kitchen and the living area is a
splendid dining table and chairs, which seats eight to ten people.
The Last Word in Contemporary Luxury.
The duplex master bedroom suite is a wonderful space. It features a
downstairs dressing room and bathroom, and an upstairs bedroom. In
the bathroom are a Jacuzzi bath and separate slate clad, glass
walled, power shower. French windows open from the dressing room
onto a south facing balcony. The bedroom windows provide spectacular
views of the Aiguille du Midi and the Brévent from the bed. Please
note that because the master bedroom is built under the eaves of the
chalet, there is restricted headroom in parts of the room.
There are three further bedrooms on the ground floor of the chalet,
one double and two twins. Two of these have en-suite bathrooms /
shower rooms, and there is another shower room across the hall from
the middle bedroom.
Home Cinema in the Den
In the basement is a den with a projector-based home cinema system.
Off the den is a further bathroom with the sauna and steam shower.
The den is a real bonus when
staying in the chalet with another family. The children tend to
disappear downstairs to watch wall-sized videos or play on the playstation, leaving the adults to enjoy some peace upstairs. One of
the sofas in the den also converts into a double sofa-bed.
Please note that the chalet is non-smoking, although smoking is
permitted on the balcony.
